My Self Directed Learning Journey

Introduction

By building on my background in UX/UI and instructional technology, this opportunity allows me to develop advanced skills in creating interactive, engaging digital resources tailored specifically to diverse learner needs. Achieving credentials in microlearning and game design will enhance my ability to develop innovative educational materials, significantly improving learner engagement and instructional outcomes. Ultimately, this learning experience will support my professional growth, strengthen my effectiveness as a course development specialist, and open opportunities for future leadership roles in educational technology and instructional design.

Credentials/Skills Earned

Through the Microlearning Instructional Design (MID) program hosted by Gnowbe, I developed the skills to structure educational content into accessible, bite-sized modules that enhance learner retention and facilitate personalized, on-demand learning experiences.

Through the Elementary Game Design Certification issued by Code.org. I gained foundational knowledge and practical skills in interactive game development using Sprite Lab, a block-based programming environment. The learning outcomes included creating interactive and animated sprites, understanding and applying variables for tracking scores, modifying gameplay, and implementing essential game mechanics (such as player movement and obstacle integration),
